Training at Health Care Connections

Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program

The program consists of:

  • 80 hours of classroom training
  • 20 hours of clinical training
  • Plus additional hours as needed
  • Course takes between 8-10 weeks
  • Held at Health Care Connections at 425 Willett Ave., Riverside RI
  • The classes are offered twice a year in the spring and fall
  • The cost for the class is $650.00
  • Schedule changes with each session but is primarily 2 evenings per week
    and Saturdays 10:00am to 2:00pm

Cost Includes:

  • Licensing
  • BCI Check
  • CPR / Books / Materials
  • Uniform, Gait Belts, Stethoscope, Blood Pressure cuff,
    CNA pin / Certificate upon graduation

Requirements:

  • Picture ID or passport
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of MMR, Tdap, and Varicella
  • 2 Step PPD or chest x-ray

Upon completion of this course you will have the required knowledge
and training to be licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the
State of Rhode Island.

  • Safety
  • Preventing infection
  • Body mechanics
  • Bed making
  • Hygiene and grooming
  • Urinary and bowel elimination
  • Nutrition
  • Measuring vital signs
  • Specimen collection
  • Common Health Problems
  • Exercise / activity / rehab restorative
  • Comfort rest and sleep
  • Mental Health and or Confusion and dementia
  • CPR basic emergency care

This course is recognized by the State of Rhode Island

A nursing assistant here at Health Care Connections is a member of the health care team who provides personal care and homemaking tasks to individuals who are sick, disabled dependent and continue to live in their own home.

If you are interested you must register for the pre-test (basic reading and math) by providing your name, phone number and e-mail. You will be notified of a pre-test date.

Tuition for the program is payable at the time of the orientation.

Financial assistance is not available for this course.

Upon successful completion of the course all licensing forms will be completed and you will be scheduled for the exams both written and hands on practicum.

The clinical aspect of the program is completed at the Hattie IDE Chaffee Home.
